Peter M. Chema began his legal career as in-house lawyer for a full-service brokerage firm specializing in foreign markets and securities; starting as summer intern in the compliance department, he became general counsel before the age of 30.  During his tenure, Mr. Chema advocated for the firm and its representatives, provided a rigorous defense in FINRA arbitration, and prevailed in cases seeking millions in damages by securing a denial or dismissal of claims.

During law school, Mr. Chema was a member of the St. John’s Securities Arbitration Clinic, providing pro bono service for underserved investors in disputes against broker-dealers.  His experience extends to practicing in the litigation department at a nationally recognized securities law firm in New York City, advising clients in the financial services industry in connection with customer arbitrations and regulatory inquiries from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), FINRA, and state banking departments.

Mr. Chema previously worked as an investigative research analyst for a PI firm and leading provider of domestic and international risk mitigation and business intelligence services to the corporate, financial and legal communities.
